Conversation between Tom Chez and Defrene (channeled by Emmy van Swaaij)

Transcribed by Sung Ah Hong

DEFRENE: There we go.

TOM: Hello Defrene.

DEFRENE: Hello to our Hawaiian friend.

TOM: (Chuckling) Nice to talk to you again.

DEFRENE: We are stressing the importance of developing trust in self, and sometimes it helps to have imagery that you can come back to at certain points. And the imagery will convey a lot information if you learn to pay attention and to play with it, to allow it its freedom.

TOM: It's sort of a different method of communication other than just reading. With the imagery we learn from it through a feeling? Seeing the images then extracting different meanings from the feelings that we observe - something like that?

DEFRENE: What happens is when you follow your imagination, it is your imagination, so it will convey a lot about your beliefs and also about your expectations. And if you allow yourself more freedom in letting the imagery develop in its own way, you do not have to push it, nor you have to steer it. It's not necessary to steer, you can just follow your own imagery, let it unfold.

And do you realize how much you enjoyed - even the brief moments - playing with kites when you were young?

TOM: Yes, I hadn't thought about that, but yes, I did.

DEFRENE: Occasionally, you would get your kite out. And for many people, kites are a source of joy. They will oftentimes have fun with this - have had fun with it also, in the past. And if they would fly a kite again now, probably have just as much fun.

TOM: Yes. You mentioned following our imagination, like we're expanding our boundaries when we do that, sometimes we only allow what we already know and everything has to be in our own terms. And then as we just follow our imagination, is that something that's allowing us to expand those boundaries so we can let more in?

DEFRENE: Indeed. And also with this imagery, there is always participation of more parts of the Self.

TOM: Okay.

DEFRENE: You cannot divide the Self really, but when you are using your imagination, you connect with your creative abilities. And to understand more of Self, to widen your view, you need to be creative. "Creative" is often an openness to possibilities. When you are not creative, you restrict yourself to what you already know and what is already done.

TOM: Yes.

DEFRENE: Creativity is unique, has its own tone, its own swing. Even though it could be on a similar subject, as somebody else already created something with it.

TOM: Have a variation.

DEFRENE: Yes. And it will reflect unique aspects of your personality. Your kites will reflect you, your passions, and it is good to let them fly out into the open.

TOM: I was wondering about the kite meditation. I'm wondering why I felt like I heard it, especially the part about "when its not windy, work on your kites" and I have this feeling that I was told that before, and I was wondering if you had any idea why that would be.

DEFRENE: You are participating on more layers of consciousness during all your "nows".

TOM: Okay.

DEFRENE: And when you were doing the exercise, you were also connecting to a similar teaching - learning moment that is always occurring. And sometimes you can see something that so reflects something that you have seen before in your terms. Even though it can be two different things, it's like seeing someone who looks different than another person that you know, but that resembles the same energy, the same message. When you learn something new that you can combine with something you already know, it will have an amplified effect, is that correct?

TOM: Yes! I felt that.

DEFRENE: And you could connect this particular imagery due to your participation with the "Who Are You" series of Kris,

TOM: Yes.

DEFRENE: because you have played with opening doors, seeing possibilities, seeing more aspects of yourself. Even though the imagery is different, you reconnect to these parts of yourself because it's you. And there will always be information added to that.

But like you need a foundation to built a house, there are many foundations already within you that you easily built imagery upon, that is easy for you to connect with, because you are familiar with closets, with storage of toys, for instance. It's fascinating to realize that most people are familiar with such a closet or garage. And garages and closets speak deeply because most things that are stored inside such closet are used often.

At the same time, there will always be closets inside the garage that are opened only once in awhile, similar to the attic that you visit, and you rediscover parts of yourself. Parts you have cherished a lot, but forgotten, like a little toy that you find in a box; totally forgotten but the imagery returns immediately upon touching the object. There is this bond made by memories and experiences. And even seeing something that is similar - not the same but similar - will have a similar effect.

TOM: That's something that we experience in our waking state. Something will happen and then we'll have this feeling and we'll actually just go into another state, a mental state, just saying "wow" that event or that thought just makes me feel different right now, and have a different perspective.

DEFRENE: Indeed, and realize that this also counts for so-called future events, because they exist, all in the NOW.

TOM: Okay.

DEFRENE: And sometimes you see something that excites you a lot, but you don't know why. And it can be that years from that moment, you are participating in something that has to do with something you saw in the past.

TOM: Okay. So following our impulses when something feels right.

DEFRENE: Indeed, and to give yourself freedom to do so. Also give yourself the freedom to not play with something because you don't feel like playing with it. A child is very efficient with that. As soon as a child get bored with a certain object, it will just let go easily without worrying about it, knowing that it might return to it later.

TOM: Yes.

DEFRENE: There is no reason why - to force yourself to play with something.

TOM: I see. Yes, that's a good point. In the dream state, I find that I limit some of my activities and you had mentioned that to me before, that I shouldn't be so shy about worrying about etiquette, proper etiquette and should try more things. And I recently started making a list of everything that I felt that I was doing wrong, that I learned from it, I learned from this, I learned from this, I should be doing this.

And I'm doing that while trying not to be too hard on myself, but I'm right now seeing the dream state as a place where there are different rules that apply, and I need to be more flexible to understand it. And as I find myself experiencing more and more in the dream state, I look back at the waking state and realize that there are rules that apply here that I should be learning also, not just the ones that I've been taught. Rules for this reality, and that it's just as magical taking a single step in this reality, and who will I meet and what will happen as in any dream reality that I'm experiencing.

DEFRENE: Indeed! And if you can allow yourself the freedom to experience that freshness, as we will call it, you will feel less drained in the end of the day. And it is that freshness that will keep you "open" to new experiences, that creates a flexibility within yourself to be able to handle things more creatively. And don't hit yourself on the head when there are moments when you do not feel that flexibility inside of you, when you forget for a moment that you have "an openness" available to you. It doesn't help hitting yourself on the head. You can just say, "oh, okay, I forgot for a moment, but now I know. I am flexible enough to remember this" - realize that.

TOM: Like to fall asleep and then awaken - just like forget for a moment.

DEFRENE: And that is fine. And there are so many ways in which you can encourage yourself to be more flexible. You are already beginning to see activities that might help you in that regard.

TOM: Yes, acting.

DEFRENE: Also, sometimes taking another route to work helps you tremendously.

TOM: Okay, I'll remember that.

DEFRENE: And you can always return to your old route and look at it with fresh eyes.

TOM: I was wondering, could I ask you about the "wind and the kite" example. You mentioned that the wind in some way was our trust of our self. And you know, of course we sometimes have a stronger trust in ourselves than other times. Is (it) kind of a natural season for the wind to stop blowing - for our trust to rise and fall? Is that kind of natural?

DEFRENE: If you allow it its own pattern, it will always start blowing again.

TOM: Yes.

(Noah starts barking intermittently)

DEFRENE: Trust, like with all other things, is not something you can force. It's something it has to develop; like a breeze that starts coming up. Of course the analogy is not always as perfect.

TOM: Yes.

DEFRENE: (Chuckling) There are some barking noises around here.

TOM: Indeed. (Chuckling)

DEFRENE: But that's part of life and we don't mind. We hope she doesn't bark too hard in your ear.

TOM: (Chuckling) No, it's okay.

DEFRENE: To get back to "the wind", the analogy is chosen for several different reasons because you can imagine the wind increasing.

TOM: Yes.

DEFRENE: And there will be situations when you are so enthusiastic about a certain thing, a certain passion, that this creative wind is blowing forcefully and with joy, steering you in directions not seen before, like a whirlwind touching upon many different areas of fulfillment. When you do not notice the wind, realize that the wind is not gone, but that it is residing in a different location. It's still part of your planet; you just don't see it at the moment.

TOM: Oh, okay. (Are) some of my successes that I find in the dream state directly related to that wind of trust?

DEFRENE: It is a combination of trust and a feeling of safety. There are... and it will be interesting to look at these reasons why you sometimes feel more trust and freedom in a dream state than other times. And it would help you to study the moments where it went well, and not to dwell too much into the moments where it didn't went well, according to your perception.

TOM: Okay.

DEFRENE: And this is an important statement: "according to your perception."

TOM: Yes.

DEFRENE: As we had said before, there are no exams to be finished or to be succeeding at.

TOM: Yes.

DEFRENE: The only thing you are inclined to do is explore in whatever way you feel that is most suited to you.

TOM: Okay,

DEFRENE: Sometimes you try to make a test where there is none.

TOM: (Laughing) Oh no!

DEFRENE: And because this world is still so unknown, some aspects of it, to your waking state self. How do you think you are creating this test? Where is it based upon? Can you make a test out of something you have a vague idea about?

TOM: Yes. I realize that I'm learning each time, but I'm learning through making - sometimes not the best choice.

DEFRENE: Indeed, you need to give yourself space to explore and not judge yourself in that process.

TOM: Yes.

DEFRENE: It's okay to learn from experiences, but you first have to live them,

TOM: Yes.

DEFRENE: To prevent mistakes will not teach you much.

TOM: Right, I'm realizing that also.

DEFRENE: And there is no pointy finger to you - ever. And if there is, it's probably you pointing at yourself.

TOM: (Chuckling) You're probably right, yes.

DEFRENE: So, see the dream state and the waking state as your playground; it's your world. And if you cross your line or somebody else's line, you will notice that and you will learn from that just like a child can learn.

TOM: I agree.

DEFRENE: And you have common sense that works perfectly fine. You will not get yourself into trouble, just as you will not put your tongue in the refrigerator during the waking state because you can know it can be quite unpleasant. You have the same common sense in the dream state.

TOM: Okay. Yes, so I shouldn't be overly (cautious). Well, I think I'm learning a little bit more as I go along each time: "Okay, this time I was overly cautious, next time I'll remember" and maybe go ahead and take a chance and dive into something or whatever.

DEFRENE: And it's interesting to realize why were you so cautious?

TOM: Because I was afraid I would wake up and lose my grip?

DEFRENE: And what is interesting is that you can TRY to not be angry at yourself when you wake up.

TOM: Yes, I found that I was angry once again when I slipped away at the last dream I was traveling in.

DEFRENE: Everything has its own rhythm.

TOM: (Chuckling) Yes, I know.

DEFRENE: And you take things in your own steps. You will train yourself to hold your concentration little bit longer, but it doesn't help to discount your waking self. The waking state is just as interesting.

TOM: Yes.

DEFRENE: Just as adventurous as you lately discover, just as fresh as is the dream state. So if you can change your perspective into "an openness" to the possibilities in both states, you will not be angry when you wake up. You will think, "Ok, I'm now here in this adventure, what am I going to do now?" You will just continue your openness, maybe you're not able to fly through walls, but there are still many interesting things to discover.

TOM: And many things to discover in waking reality also.

DEFRENE: Indeed, things you sometimes dismiss, and you will learn to see and recognize the beauty that's there. "Everything has its own rhythm" is something you should remember. And with that we will end our conversation - if you don't mind.

TOM: Very nice.

DEFRENE: Because you have many things to ponder upon and we are very thankful for your creative help with amplifying our message.

(Tom's Note: Here Defrene is referring to me boosting the volume of an audio file for Emmy)

TOM: (Chuckling) Oh you're welcome - very welcome - glad I could help.

DEFRENE: And we encourage you to be observing your physical life with the joyous eyes that you have, the joyous view you have inside dream states. And you will notice that the more that you pay attention to your wondrous adventure in the dream state, the more you pay attention to your wondrous adventures in the WAKING state as well. They will both amplify in freshness and clarity.

TOM: That's wonderful.

DEFRENE: Till the next time.

TOM: Okay, very good, thank you Defrene.

DEFRENE: You are most welcome.

(End of session)

Crossing the Bridge
by Shirley Hadley

I constructed a bridge one night in my dreams.
I built it from scrap and remnants of my past.
Old, cracked pain-stained bricks, left-over
Beliefs, joined together to form who I thought I was.

I lost my footing. The bridge crumbled.
I saved myself from falling into the waters below.
The waters of life move swiftly.
Rain falls, one drop at a time.
Each drop collects and forms a pool of emotions.

Overflowing the sides of a self created damn.
The water moves, never standing still. Strong and
Energetic it follows the contours and shape of a
Never ending Source.

"Time to build a new bridge," I said to myself.
A new structure built on a strong foundation,
Cemented together with love, understanding and joy.
Moment by moment, I build a passageway,
A crossing….a bridge from the old to the new.
Listening to the echoes of a sound that rises from
The depths of my soul.

I translate the inner harmonies to a song. Creating
A melody that carries me on a wave of ultra-violet light.
Visions flow.
Projections on the screen of my mind reveal to me,
The steps I am taking. Brilliant rays of understanding
Flash through my spectral awareness.

An arc appears of luminescent quality.
I move with courage into new parts of myself.
I see the bridge of light…I must cross over.

One by One by One
by Sara M Ray

She brought her hands up as if in prayer. Her thoughts raced, as they always did. However, today had an air of drowsiness...which not only affected her body, but her mind as well. Rocking back and forth in her chair with the uneven legs, she wondered what made it possible for matter to touch and not blend into one, which is what seemed to be happening with every passing second of the day, which brought upon the feeling of borderline wakefulness and borderline dreaming. The words that danced lazily through her mind were the only thing keeping her awake.

Looking out the window, the trees did not move, and the occasional car would pass by slowly. The bell rang and it took her a moment to regain herself, and hear the crowd of her classmates rush out the door and pile into the hallway, as they always did. But there was something just a touch different about today, although seemingly impossible to know exactly what. Maybe it was the way the wind seemed to breathe today? Or the way everything seemed more bright? Or the way each step she took melted into another, instead of the careful footsteps that she was used to...that she would count, silently, in the back of her mind...one by one by one.

The Road To Elmira Chapter 3
by Richard Kendall
My Own Voice?

Having invested almost two years in following Francoise’s “course to enlightenment,” abandoning that path wasn’t going to happen as a result of one evening in Elmira. However, in the beginning of March I started to feel Route 17 calling out to me again. My friend Jeff called Jane to see if we could attend another class. Jane had just returned from a vacation in Florida and said she expected class to be quite crowded. She also mentioned how far we lived and suggested we come back another time. For some reason she was resistant to us returning, but Jeff was persistent and Jane finally agreed.

It felt good to be out of the city again. Living and working exclusively in a big city can dampen one’s connection with nature, and I felt revitalized passing streams, mountains, and rows of Pine lined up on both sides of the highway. The closer I got to Elmira the more my adrenaline began to flow. The not knowing what to expect was part of the excitement. Studying under Francoise one was expected to follow a rigid set of guidelines without question and without deviation. In Jane’s class no road maps were handed out as we entered the room. There were basic hypotheses class subscribed to, but within these there was ample, if not unlimited room for exploration and discovery.

As I entered Jane’s living room for only the second time, I felt far more comfortable than the first visit. There were no seats available so I happily parked myself on the floor just a few feet from the rocking chair Jane was about to sit in. The phrase “At The Feet Of The Master” came to mind but definitely did not fit here. No one was presenting themselves as master and no one was playing the role of disciple. We were repeatedly told that each of us had access to the same knowledge and abilities that Jane had access to.

Seth came through numerous times during the evening, but the following comment evoked a strong reaction within me:

“Now, I am pleased that you sit and wait for me with such great attention. I would be much more pleased, however, if you waited for yourselves with as great attention, and if you listened to your own voices with as much attention as you pay to mine.”

My own voice? Trust the voice of someone “in the grips of a demonical thing?” If there was a voice within me worth listening to I wondered where it had been keeping itself hid. “Come out, come out wherever you are” I thought to myself. I also thought about the whole idea of “hearing voices,” and how according to traditional thinking such occurrences were indications, at the least, of mental instability. Yet Jane heard voices and her personality was quite stable. One might be prone to agree or disagree with the concepts those voices presented, but the words spoken certainly reflected a significant intelligence. The voices within her were not malevolent in any way; they weren’t instructing Jane to go out and kill anyone, or do anything untoward or antisocial. Yet I was not Jane and I worried about the nature of the voices I might hear within myself.

“You must listen to the voice of the inner self and learn to work with it,” Seth told us. As I pondered that statement I realized he was not referring to the voice of an ego that was scared, confused, unsure of itself, and fearful of its position in the general hierarchy of things. He was referring to another voice; a voice within me that was confident in its knowledge, and had solutions to my problems if I would allow myself to listen. The following dream, along with Seth’s interpretation, helps illustrate the point I was grappling with.

In this dream a voice began to speak through me. With great effort I tried to force my mouth shut so as to prevent it from speaking. The voice was persistent in its efforts to come through, but unfortunately so was my resistance. While I wasn’t able to completely close my mouth, the outcome of this tug of war was that the resulting sounds were so garbled as to be unintelligible. It was as if I was trying to speak while my mouth was filled with marbles. Here is what Seth had to say to me about this dream:

“You were involved in an experience in which you were trying to give voice, if you will forgive me, to those “higher” portions of your selves that usually you still and quiet and hush without thinking. You were therefore trying to give freedom to other portions of your personality that you do not recognize and struggling against the experience. You were saying, “My ego is my ego and it is me, and I will not listen to any other portion of my personality who has the audacity to think it knows more than I do. But do not worry because you are learning, and you were aware of your own sense of resistance. That in itself is an advance, for many are not aware of their own resistance to the inner portions of themselves, and they say, Why can I not listen to the inner voice when there is no resistance in me to it, and when I want to hear and I want to listen and I want to be spontaneous. But they are not aware of the feeling and sensation of their own resistance, for they are afraid to feel their own resistance, and you must become aware of it so that you can break through it, and so you are becoming aware of it.”

Seth’s interpretation sounded right on to me. My inner voice was not sleeping, or off on some extended holiday with no concern for my welfare. On the contrary, the voice of my inner self was always trying to get through to me, but a very stubborn and frightened ego kept turning down the volume, when what was needed was the exact opposite. As time went on I realized that the inner self “speaks” in many ways, not just through words. It speaks through impulses, through intuition, through dreams, through coincidence, through precognition; in short, it speaks through all of the unofficial avenues of expression that we shut down without even realizing we are doing so. It whispers in our ear during the light of day, and sneaks into the corridors of our consciousness under the cover of darkness at night. And sometimes it speaks through events that rock our world, attempting to wake us from our stupor, yet too often our response is just to bemoan our fate and be angry at how unfair life can be.

It is always up to us whether we will listen to that voice within us, and listening, whether we will trust what we hear. Free will can sometimes seem like such a blessing, and at other times seem like such a curse. Wouldn’t life be easier if some God would just grab our feet and make them walk in the right direction, sparing us the burden of having to find our own way? Yes, life might prove easier under such circumstances, but at what cost? How would we ever become acquainted with our own power, our own abilities, and how would we ever learn to listen and work with that inner self Seth spoke about. Seth would often say that nothing from the outside is ever forced upon us, and that we only experience events we have acquiesced to. Such a philosophy can be a tough pill to swallow at times, but no one was forcing me to swallow it.

As I journeyed back to New York City that night I thought about the “voice within me,” and decided the time had come for us to get better acquainted. I didn’t think a formal invitation was necessary nor an RSVP. My inner voice has been there for me from the day I was born; from before I was born, and will be there after I die. The connection between us can never be lost. Clear channels between layers of the self are always available, but fear and distrust can create great distances, jamming up the lines of communication with all kinds of static, or worse, leaving us with an empty silence. I wanted those distances to disappear, but had a feeling that it was going to take a lot longer than the five hours or so it took to drive back to New York City for that to occur.

Meeting in the Dark
by Donald R. Johnson

Now and then it is necessary to tell a sad story.
We have all lived many such and they make up
a portion of our being. Thankfully, I am not there.
A day much like any other recent day. We searched
the land for the remaining enemy forces. Early morning
mists hid the low places and shadows moved within.

Tempered by the flame of War, we had become as
wolves; mercy was a word that we remembered from
church, but it had no effect on our actions anymore.
Sight, scent and the pressure of the air on my skin give
me critical information about the world around me.
Sounds are filtered, scanned for their significance.

A bridge slowly appears as we ride forward. Our scouts
slowly cross it and then the rest of us follow more swiftly.
The bridge belongs to a village which can be seen now.
The village is dead; burnt cottages with empty windows
look like grey skulls. There is no smoke, this place has
been dead for a while and there are no sounds within.

Our Captain calls a halt. The scouts ride through the village
and then return, finding no threat. We dismount, seeking
a short rest. After posting guards, most of us find a spot to sit.
I think that perhaps I can find a bit to eat, anything other
than the crap that we have carried with us, so I get up
and set off to search a few of the buildings that still stand.

The first, second and third are ruins, nothing but ash and
burnt, broken boards. Then I see another building that
seems nearly untouched. It even has most of a roof still.
The door looms large as I reach to push it open. What is it
that I feel as my hand touches it? A warning? Or...no, my
stomach rumbles and I press forward into the building.

My eyes see nothing in the sudden darkness within. I stand
still for a moment as I wait for them to adapt to the dark. I
sense nothing until suddenly I hear a hiss and see stars.
He was waiting silently in the gloom, ready to strike. I feel
the blade enter my side; it burns like fire. Before I can react,
there is another fierce blow, this one feels like ice.

Now I can see. I see the dirty floor slowly rise up to meet me
and there is a ringing in my ears. It seems that I bounce after
I hit the floor and then all is still. I notice the taste of copper.
Finally, I manage to draw my blade, though I don't have the
strength to use it. I see the feet of my enemy. My eyes follow
the legs upward. I feel calm, as if I am only dreaming.

He's just a youth. He holds a knife in his hand as he stands
there above me. He is gasping for breath. When he sees me
draw the blade, it breaks the spell and he runs into the dark.
Even as I hear a door crash open, I cry out to him for help.
It makes no sense but he is the only living warm being in
this darkness. My cry is only a croak and it is too late.

Warmth as the dry floorboards gladly soak up the blood. I'll try
to rise in a minute but first I'll try to rest. Funny thought:
How many times have I known this feeling? It's so familiar.
A rushing sound in my head. I try to move my fingers to
signal my comrades but the pain is gone now and I am
numb, only my eyes seem to work. There is no hurry.

A tapping sound. I see a mouse emerging from the darkness.
I am glad to see him. I feel his curiosity in my mind. I try
to tell him about the glow that is starting to fill my vision.
But it's not a mouse after all, it's my brother. I thought
he was dead but he's here now. He smiles and shakes his head.
There are stars in his eyes as he reaches a hand towards mine...

(Who have you been, really, and who am I?)

William Butler Yeats’ Theory of Reincarnation Explained

What is reincarnation? To begin with, reincarnation does not take place within a matrix of linear time. It’s not as if e.g. you had a life in ancient Greece and then you died; then you had a life in ancient Rome and then you died; then you had a life in the Middle Ages and then you died; etc. Rather, all of your past and future lives are going on at once, in an eternal NOW moment.

Think of it like this: survivors of near-death experiences often report seeing all the events that ever happened to them flash by them in no time at all. Thus it would seem that we experience the thought forms of our lives twice – once in linear fashion over a lifetime, and the second time around in timeless fashion at the moment of death.

In an analogous manner, while there is indeed an evolution going on in the universe, this evolution is not taking place in linear time: it’s all happening at once. Space and time have no objective existence. They are merely cognitive tools which evolved as sentient beings evolved, to enable them to focus upon one thing at a time instead of everything at once. The linearity of time is an illusion, a falsehood, which Eastern philosophers have termed maya or samsara. It is this false appearance that there is such a thing as an objective reality out there unfolding in linear time, which animates the striving of all sentient beings and keeps the wheel of reincarnation – of life and death and rebirth – turning.

Babies (and even young children, who sometimes talk about memories from other lifetimes) are not as centered in a one-track existence as adults are. Babies and young children are consciously impinged upon by influences from other lives and probable realities which most adults have learned to ignore. The same socialization process which props up a baby’s sense of being a unitary, abiding, separated individual also imprisons that individual in a furrow of inexorable linear temporality.

For most people, 99.9% of decisions are made on the basis of socially-conditioned actions and reactions – what they were taught by their parents and society. But every now and then everyone has poignant moments – moments of consciousness or conscientiousness or conscience – when they sense that probable realities are branching off this way or that; or they feel echoes from other lifetimes and realities; or they hear voices from deep inside them. When this happens people feel connected to something more profound than their customary hustle and bustle; and that something is their true purpose in this lifetime – the reason they were born.

Nobel laureate William Butler Yeats’ masterpiece A Vision (channeled by his wife) explains the true nature of reincarnation – what it really is and how it really works. Starting this coming month Magical Almanac, Bob Makransky’s free monthly ezine of astrology and magic, will be presenting a six-article series which explains the theory of reincarnation as described in A Vision. This series includes complete instructions for safe and easy techniques you can use on your own to run past life regressions and probable reality progressions; and to recapitulate memories from your present lifetime (thereby releasing the pent-up emotions which you have invested in your memories).

“We all to some extent meet again and again the same people and certainly in some cases form a kind of family of two or three or more persons who come together life after life until all passionate relations are exhausted, the child of one life the husband, wife, brother, sister of the next. Sometimes, however, a single relationship will repeat itself, turning its revolving wheel again and again.” – William Butler Yeats, A Vision

WHAT A COINCIDENCE Understanding Synchronicity In Everyday Life
by Susan M Watkins

Overview:

What if all those seemingly insignificant little What a coincidence! moments you've experienced were actually connected, were part of a larger, more complex coincidence story?

What if they were hinting at something very personal and important about yourself—and about the workings of human consciousness?

Would you listen?

Susan Watkins does. For more than 35 years she's been documenting and studying the coincidences that have happened in her life. What she's discovered is that seemingly simple coincidences—thinking of an old friend and their calling seconds later, for example—are often pieces of larger, more complex and meaningful "coincidence clusters."

A former newspaper reporter and the author of five books, Watkins has always been intrigued by coincidences—what they mean in our everyday lives, and in the grander scheme of things. What, she asks, do these coincidence clusters say about human consciousness and human connection? In What a Coincidence! she presents coincidence clusters that are utterly astounding. What they reveal is life- altering.

What a Coincidence! is an exciting, groundbreaking journey. Along the way Watkins offers profound insights as well as practical pointers on how to become aware of the coincidence clusters in our own lives. She also shows us how to document coincidences so that we, too, can reap their valuable rewards. We'll never brush off those What a Coincidence! moments again.

Seth Network Japan

Dear friends, I'm happy to announce that Seth Network Japan, was created in December 2005 by a small group of Japanese Seth fans, . We also have a website that introduces the Seth Material to our visitors.

If you know any Japanese speaking person who might be interested in Seth books, we'd be glad to welcome him/her on the site. For those who feel like having a look at Japan, we have a small slide show that presents different parts of the country.

So, you are all welcome. :-)

Cheers,
Masa

Greetings from the Portland-Metro Seth Readers' Guild

We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month. Our first meeting of the month is for reading aloud and commenting. Right now, we are reading "The Seth Material" in the first half of the meeting, then we take a break for drinks and treats and conversation. During the second half of the meeting we have started reading "Seth Speaks". We end the meeting variously with a psy-time, or reading from the Seth deck of cards. Of course the reading goes slowly, because we always have a reason to stop the flow for comments--current events, family or personal tie-ins, etc. This is how we use the material, and it seems to work.

Our second meeting of the month is what we call the experiential

meeting, which can range from a past-life hypnosis psy-time, to a video of interest on a current topic, or a time of general discussion. We did some remote-viewing experiments with pretty good results.

Our meetings start at 7 PM and go to 10 PM. The host provides tea, coffee or other drinks, and we bring finger food. There is networking, friendship, and stimulating talk on all kinds of subjects during the break. We aim to keep our focus on our primary reality, and learn from each other how to deal constructively with the secondary reality of our greater world.

Drop-ins are welcome--call Marie 503-232-6469 or email harakne@yahoo.com for our meeting locations or any cancellations."
